When the kids and I took a walk near Lake Gregory while we were in Crestline, we came across these plants with several butterflies. After a Google search, I figured out the butterflies are Western Tiger Swallowtails. They must have been really hungry because they didn't even try to fly away if you went to touch the wings.

Crestline
This past weekend, we spent a couple days at our friend's house in Crestline, which is about 20 minutes from Lake Arrowhead. The weather was absolutely perfect the entire weekend. Lake Gregory is about a 5 minute drive from the house, so we spent the majority of our time there. We went fishing, rented a paddle board, road around on the lake on a paddle boat and fed the ducks. It was so nice to do so many things outdoors. One evening we drove to Lake Arrowhead for dinner. We walked around the lake, the kids went on some carnival rides and my friend and I got to do a little shopping. We all had such a good time together. I even learned a new card game called Phase 10. I'll definitely need to purchase that before our Hawaii trip. Thanks friend for such an amazing weekend!
We completed another item off our Summer Bucket List... Plan a weekend in a new city.

A Celebration
On Saturday, I celebrated my dear friend's 40th birthday. It's been years since I stayed out until 3:00 a.m. I had such a great time at the party. I got to spend some time with old friends and I met some new ones as well. We danced, we sang, we laughed… it was a perfect night. Of course Peyton and Logan woke up early Sunday morning… why wouldn't they?

Diamond Club Seats
We set out to go to the Angels game on Sunday. We knew it was going to be hot, very hot. Geoff called and told me he was able to get Diamond Club seats from Vernon Wells. I couldn't pass up on these tickets because the seats are awesome! I knew it was going to be hot and it was going to take a while for our seats to be in the shade. Around the 6th inning our seats had finally cooled off. The girls brought out their rally monkeys and insisted on a photo session. Unfortunately, the Angels lost.
The girls made it on the jumbo tron again! |
One of our favorite players... Mike Trout! |
Thanks for the tickets Vernon! |
