Carnival Time

We hit up another local carnival in our area a few weeks ago. Peyton had so much fun going on all the big rides with our neighbors. Logan even got a chance to go on some rides too. Peyton went on ride called "Gravitron" 4 times. That's the ride that spins around so fast that you don't even need to buckle yourself in. She went on so many times that she felt dizzy when she closed her eyes for bed. She said, "Mom, everytime I close my eyes, I keep going in circles." My poor girl. Luckily, she was fine and eventually fell asleep that night.

Peyton loves the big kid rides.
I love this photo because it screams carnival!
There are 3 rides in this photo, and they're all going at the same time.
I love the facial expressions on all the kids in this photo, too bad I can't see Peyton's face!
Peyton is in there... spinning around and around and around!

My Soccer Stud ~ Peyton # 8

Peyton has done so well playing soccer this season. I huge difference compared to last year. I'm proud to say, she has already scored 2 goals this season as well! She's doing awesome and it's so fun to watch her run up and down that soccer field.  Below are some pictures from her recent games.

The Team Banner
She doesn't look like a soccer stud here, I just thought it was a cute picture.
Oh no she didn't...
Peyton scored her first goal!  It's hard to tell by the photo, but she did!
She's got skills!
Fighting for the soccer ball
Check my girl, # 8 ...  about to score a goal!

A Special Reunion With Carlos

Growing up, our family had many exchange students that stayed with us for an entire year. Way back, when I was in 6th grade, a gentlman from Spain stayed for about 13 months. His name was Carlos. We have many memories of Carlos, and of his family too. Two of his sisters stayed with us, as well as his cousin. My brother has stayed in contact with Carlos over the years. This weekend, Carlos was in town for a couple days so we had a chance to get together with him at a BBQ at my brother's house. It was so good to see him. Oh, how I would love to take a family trip to Spain to visit his family. Maybe one day...

Spectrum

Shea and Candace came in to town the weekend of the Race for the Cure. We took a shopping trip to Spectrum. We shopped until we dropped, literally. Shea was nice enough to take the girls on the big ferris wheel while Candace and I went to Ann Taylor Loft. We had lunch at Wahoo's and dinner at Corner Bakery. It was a long day of shopping, but we had fun!

Rancho Mirage Mini Vacation

The girls and I recently went on a mini vacation with Papa and Grandma. We stayed at The Westin Mission Hills Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage. It was very hot when we arrived so the first thing the girls did was put on their bathing suits and we headed to the pool. After a late afternoon in the pool, we went to PF Chang's for dinner, then Ben & Jerry's for dessert. Friday morning we woke up and went to IHop for breakfast. After breakfast, we headed to the pool since it was already 98 degrees outside. The Westin has a waterslide at the pool, which Peyton loved! Peyton and I must have taken 20 trips down that waterslide. She talked Papa in to going down the waterslide, but unfortunately he hurt his knee going down. That afternoon a lightning storm came through, so we had to leave the pool area. We got cleaned up and headed to The JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa so the girls could see the flamingos and go on a boat ride. I forgot how nice the hotel grounds are, so beautiful! That night we went to Aqua Caliente Casino to hit up the buffet for dinner. This was the girls first time at a buffet. Let's just say the girls sampled a lot of food, especially dessert. Saturday morning we packed up and headed home. Unfortunately, it's supposed to rain this week so it looks summer is officially over and fall is upon us.

We spent a lot of time in the pool, since it was over 100 degrees.
Cannonball!
Peyton and Logan made some new friends at the pool.
We had so much fun on the waterslide.  Peyton loved it!
Peyton started on the waterslide with Papa... no Papa in this picture.
She looks a little nervous going on the waterslide all by herself.
There's Papa... unfortunately, he hurt his leg coming down the waterslide.
We went to visit the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa
The girls loved feeding the ducks. Once you opened the sliding glass door, they came running.
