Logan had her two year check-up this past Monday with Dr. Bennett. I thought she was going to get shots at this visit, but the doctor said she was all caught up on her vaccinations. Thank goodness, I hate it when the girls have to get shots. So here are her stats:
Height: 34.75 inches
Weight: 25.375 pounds
Here are her stats from her prior wellness check-up in September:
Height: 33.25 inches
Weight: 23.625 pounds.
Ok, so she has only gained about 2 pounds since her last visit. That surprised me! The doctor said she's in the 80th percentile for height and 30th percentile for weight. He wasn't very concerned with her weight and basically said she will be tall and skinny.
The rest of the appointment went well except for the fact that Logan cried the entire time. I think she thought she was getting shots. I don't know how the doctor checked her heart rate because she was screaming the entire time. At the trip to urgent care last week, the doctor had to take ear wax out of her ears, which she hated and screamed the entire time. So once Dr. Bennett got even close to her ears, she freaked out! The doctor said she still had a little bit of fluid in her left ear however, it was not red so it wasn't infected. He would like us to come back in 6 weeks to check on her ear again.
I had the doctor check a rash that she's got near her arm pits and her tummy. He confirmed it is eczema. He prescribed a steroid cream for me to put on it. She had a difficult time at preschool last week so I think between crying so much and stressing out about preschool, she had some pretty several rashes on her.
Once we were finished at the doctor's office, I took Logan back to Momma Kay's house. I was so happy she didn't get shots, I'm sure she was too!

Celebrating Logan's Birthday at Grandma and Papas
On Sunday we went to grandma and papa's house to celebrate Logan's birthday. Logan fell asleep on the way to their house and ended up taking a two hour nap. Grandma made Logan a very special cake which she frosted and let Peyton decorate. Peyton had so much fun decorating. She started off by spelling her own name on the cake. Grandma had to remind her the cake was for Logan. The cake turned out so cute and Peyton had so much fun decorating with a little help from grandma. They used these really cool cake decorating pens.
Logan woke from her long nap and we sat down for dinner. Grandma made chicken and rice. Once we were finished with dinner, Logan and Peyton decided it was time to open presents. Logan wanted to open the presents all by herself. Every time Peyton tried to help, Logan would say "No Sissy"! Auntie Carol gave Logan a stuffed Elmo and an Elmo book, which she LOVED!!! I gave Logan a mini baby stroller so she was very excited to put her new Elmo in it and take him for a ride. Grandma and papa gave Logan a really cute kisses book and more stocks.
Cake time... The girls were so excited to sing happy birthday and eat cake. Logan was so cute standing on the chair when we were singing to her. She had the biggest smile on her face. Peyton helped Logan blow out her candle. Logan only wanted to dip her candle in the cake and lick the frosting off. I had to take it from her because she was starting to bite in to the candle. The girls ended up making a big mess of the cake. Grandma let them dig their fingers and faces in the cake and then it was off to the tub. Both girls were covered in frosting!
We headed home around 8:45 and Peyton fell asleep on the way home however, Logan was bright eyed the entire drive home! Between the two hour nap and too much cake, she didn't fall asleep until after 10:00 p.m. The girls had a great time and everyone made Logan's birthday very special!

Logan's 2nd Birthday!
Logan turned 2 years old this past Saturday! I can't believe she is already 2. The second child definitely seems to go much faster than the first. Logan woke up bright and early at 6:45 a.m. The weatherman said it was going to rain so we weren't sure what to do. Cheryl called and suggested we go to Disneyland for Logan's birthday. She has a friend that works there so her friend was able to sign us all in. On the way to Grammie's house we passed by Angels stadium. The girls were so cute because they were blowing kisses to daddy's work. They really miss him! Logan kept saying, daddy's work, daddy's work!!!
We arrived at Disneyland around 11:30 and it ended being a beautiful day.... no rain!!! It wasn't very crowded which was great!
Once we arrived, for whatever reason, Logan was not very interested in riding in the tram to get to the park. She pretty much cried the first hour we were at California Adventure. Peyton and Grammie went on the lady bug ride first. We ended up heading to Disneyland and went on It's A Small World. Peyton and Logan loved it! From there we were off to see the princesses. We had lunch in the princess area and then Peyton went to get her face painted. Grammie bought Peyton and Logan some very cute princess shoes and clothes.
After visiting the princesses we went to Toon Town where Peyton and Logan both got to meet Minnie Mouse. Peyton made Minnie Mouse a very special picture and she had an autograph book so Minnie could sign it. Logan kept grabbing Minnie's nose. After meeting Minnie we got to see her house! The girls loved the way it was decorated. After meeting Minnie, we were off to meet Mickey. Unfortunately, Peyton needed a little break and so Logan and I were the only ones that met Mickey. Logan was so in it grabbing at his nose too! Everyone in line was giggling at her.
Once we left Toon Town, we were went to visit Pooh. Logan ended up falling asleep on the way because she was so tired. Peyton and I went on the Pooh ride. Peyton said the ride wasn't very long and she wanted it to last longer. When we got off the Pooh ride we went to meet Pooh, Tigger and Eeyore. Peyton was very excited to have all the characters sign her autograph book that Grammie bought her. Grammie even bought Peyton a special Minnie Mouse pen to go with her book. Once we finished visiting Pooh and friends we decided to go home because Logan woke up from her nap and it was getting late. We had a great time at Disneyland!!
After leaving Disneyland we headed to Grammie's house for dinner and more play time! Grammie and I were exhausted... not sure how the girls were able to stay up with so much excitement early in the day.

Not Feeling So Well... Trip to Urgent Care
The girls woke up Monday with fevers, coughs, running noses, etc. I figured the best thing to do was to take them to the doctors to make sure they were ok. I always want to make sure they don't have ear infections so I feel like the minute they get a fever and running nose... I'm off to the doctors. Peyton was very excited to keep her jammies on since we left so early in the morning. Once we got to the doctors, both girls were great! Logan cried a bit when the doctor was checking her ears. Peyton did such a great job, she is such a big girl now. She wasn't nervous when the nurse checked her blood pressure or when the doctor was checking her throat and ears. They ended up testing her for strep, thank goodness the results came back negative. The doctor said Logan had an ear infection and Peyton had a viral infection so make sure she gets lots of rest and plenty of fluids.
After the doctor's we went home and Logan napped for over 2 hours, which she really needed! Once she woke up, we had lunch and decided to go outside and play since it was so nice outside. I gave the girls new bubble blowers for Valentine's Day (which didn't work so well) and we headed to the backyard. For whatever reason, we couldn't get the darn things to blow bubbles. Logan ended up just dumping her bubbles all over the floor.
Once the girls were over the bubbles, we watered Peyton's garden. I can't believe how fast everything is growing! The spinach looks great and I checked the carrots, and they are finally growing too! In about a month we should have some really nice carrots for the girls to eat. They aren't into the lettuce or spinach so we'll see how they do with the carrots.
The rest of the afternoon we played soccer and baseball in the backyard. Peyton is going to be a great soccer player, she's got a foot on her. I can't wait to sign her up for soccer! So darn cute!
Grammie came over once she was finished at work to spend time with the girls. She picked up Wahoo's for dinner... one of our favorites! Grammie is a lifesaver and she has helped out so much since Geoff went to Arizona. Thank you Grammie!

Valentine's Day and Birthday Party
The girls and I had a great Valentine's Day. We went to Peyton's friend's birthday party. It was at park in Newport Beach and it was so beautiful outside, you could even see the ocean. The girls had so much fun playing, eating, and running around. Peyton got her face painted with a happy face on one cheek and a rainbow on the other. The food was so yummy too! There was mexican food and hotdogs. The girls and I ate so much food! All the kids played great together. I felt like I was chasing Logan around the entire time. She's a little dare devil. At one point Logan said she wanted to go down the slide all by herself (which wasn't a great idea) and she flew right off the end of the slide and landed on her back. She got up, brushed herself off and run back to the stairs for more with a big smile on her face.
After the party, Peyton went to her friend's house for a playdate. It really helped me out because by the time Logan and I got home, Logan was feeling a bit warm and needed a nap. Around 6:00 p.m I received a call that Peyton was ready to come home and she too was running a bit warm too. I ended up taking Logan's temperature around 6:00 p.m. and it was up to 102!!! Motrin to the rescue! The rest of the night we just relaxed on the sofa for some much needed rest. Even though the girls weren't feeling all that well, they certainly were in great moods!
Around 7:00 p.m. I realized I didn't have dinner yet so Rachel and David stopped by to bring me dinner which was so sweet!! Rachel ended up staying and helping me get the girls to bed. She read a book to Peyton and they prayed for mommy and daddy before she fell asleep.

Saturday... Fun Day!
This morning when the girls woke up they had a huge surprise from their Grammie. Two big bags full of goodies for Valentine's Day. They received cute outfits, lots of stickers, plates, etc. The girls loved the bags too! They had fun playing inside of them.
Peyton's friend Sam came over today for a playdate. They had so much fun playing dress up and playing outside. It was a beautiful day! We took Sam home and ended up going to the beach for about an hour. It was a bit cold but the girls had fun playing in the sand. Logan still loves to eat the sand... yuck!
After Sam's house we went to gramma and papa's house for dinner. Papa had some special cookies for Peyton and Logan. I had to stop Peyton at 2! Papa helped Peyton paint one of the picture frames from Auntie Karen. Gramma brought home some really cute Valentine cards that Peyton made. Peyton and Logan received some candy necklaces and bracelets too. To end the night Gramma and Papa took Peyton to get frozen yogurt. Peyton loves when she can pick her own yogurt and put the toppings on all by herself. We'll be heading home soon. Tomorrow we have Sam's 4th birthday party. Peyton is very excited. Yikes, I need to get home and wrap her present!

Valentine's Day Celebration
The girls had a great time at their Valentine's Day parties at school yesterday. Peyton was very excited to bring home so many special treats and cards. Peyton made the cute little mailbox to put all her cards in. Logan made this cute little owl picture out of hearts. She did such a great job!
When they girls got home yesterday, they had a special package from their Auntie Karen. It was a box full of goodies for Valentine's Day. There were picture frames, paint, paint brushes, little doggies, yummy cinnamon bread, etc. The girls had that for breakfast this morning. There is a picture of all of the cards and treats the girls received at school as well as the special box from Auntie Karen. Peyton loves to check the mailbox to see if there is any mail for her. Receiving a huge box of goodies was a nice surprise!
Grammie picked up the girls from school yesterday and as soon as I got home from work we went to dinner at Ruby's on Huntington Beach pier. It was a bit cold outside but we had the girls buddled up. The girls were very good at dinner time. After dinner they had cute little ice cream cones. We had so much fun. Logan and Peyton pretty much ran the length of pier once we finished dinner. They were very tired when we got home.

Silly Girls
Valentines Party At School
Peyton was very excited this morning to get all ready for her Valentine's party at school today! She picked out her outfit all by herself. She asked me if I would take a picture of her with the balloons. When we arrived at school today she went straight to the teacher to show her all the Valentine cards she made. She hid them in her cubby so none of the kids would see them. She can't wait to pass them out to all the kids once the party starts.
I was able to snap a picture of Logan too, she didn't want me to take it for whatever reason. Logan wasn't a happy camper when I dropped her off today. I thought today would be better... not so much. She seemed happy when we were in Peyton's class. Once we started walking towards her class, she started crying. Logan is having a Valentine's party today as well. I'm sure she'll have a great day! Grammie is picking the girls today so that will be a surprise for them at school today.
Art From Logan's First Day Of School
When I arrived to pick up the girls from school yesterday, Logan had the cutest little strawberry on a stick that they made from her first day of school. In the picture, Logan is sitting on the teacher's lap in the red. Logan put a little glitter on the strawberry too. She also colored this little picture with the kitty cats and puppy. Her first artwork from school. SO CUTE!!!

Things Are Looking Up!
These past few days have been way easier then or first night. Yesterday, grammie picked up the girls from school which really helped. We ordered Chinese food from our favorite restaurant. I still have a ton of leftovers. Logan stayed asleep the entire night in her crib and Peyton showed up in our bed around 6:30 a.m. I was super happy to get 7 hours of sleep. Logan was really tired from school. She is still miserable when I drop her off in the morning. However, she is all smiles when I pick her up. She is so cute when she runs to me with a huge smile on her face as she screams Mommy! Peyton ended up getting a note from the teacher yesterday. Let's just say she needed to use her listening ears better. So last night grammie and Peyton wrote a note to her teacher stating she was sorry and she will be a better listener. This morning Peyton delivered the note to her teacher and she gave P a big hug!! Peyton also ended up being class leader today. She was very excited to tell me when I picked them up today. Peyton's class had part one of a two part Valentine celebration. She came home with some really cute and creative cards. We will bring ours tomorrow for part two of the party. Logans teacher said she did much better today then yesterday. We'll see how tomorrow goes.
My dad called today to let me know that he and my mom are going to take Peyton to the broadway show Lion King at the Performing Arts Center in June. I think she will enjoy it. We've got the book and video so we will revisit those soon.
As for the weekend... Grammie is picking the girls up from school tomorrow. Sat. we are going to papa and grandma's house. Sun. we have Peyton's best friends 4th birthday party. Oh, and we will celebate Valentines day too. Busy weekend but I'm so glad we are off Monday!!! Yipee...
The girls are sound asleep, and they have been that way since 9:00. I'm off to start the dishwasher and fold some laundry. I was able to put away two baskets full earler while the kids were playing in their room. Nighty night !

Tonight will be better!
The girls and I went to bed sometime after 10:15 p.m. last night. Poor Logan sounds like she's getting a little cough. Her cough kept me up last night so around 3:30 a.m. I went in to Peyton's bed to get some much needed sleep. I woke up around 6:30 a.m., started lunch for the girls, got myself ready and then I heard sounds of little feet upstairs. Logan was up by 7:15 a.m. and Peyton was tossing and turning in bed. Both the girls seemed very tired this morning. Logan especially! We were off to school by 7:50 a.m. On the way to school I asked Logan if she was excited to go to school today and she said, "NO MOMMY". She was not happy about going to school today. Apparently yesterday was difficult for Logan. The teacher said they ended up having Peyton go in to Logan's class after lunch because Logan was crying. The teacher said Peyton was a great big sister. I knew it was going to be difficult for Logan to adjust but it kills me that she's crying at school throughout the day and not just when I drop her off! So we go to the classroom this morning and I drop both the girls off in the same classroom and I run out. I can here Logan screaming. Breaks my heart!! I end up forgetting something in the car so I pick up what's in the car and drop it off in Peyton's class and I can still hear Logan crying. I peaked through the window and she's just standing all by herself crying! I keep telling myself it will get better, it will take time to adjust. Logan's teacher requested I bring in a family photo so Logan can look at it throughout the day… can I bring in a family album? Will this make her better… one can only hope! I will do whatever it takes.
As tired as the girls are, they were in a great mood last night which is good. They have been perfect angels during dinner and bath time. Peyton especially has been so helpful and she's been a great listener! When we get home today, we'll be finishing up our Valentine cards for daddy and the kids at school. I hope tonight is better than last as for as bed time goes.

Making Valentine Cards
Peyton had fun making Valentine cards for all her friends at school. Here is a little video of her.

The girls and I are exhausted
So tonight didn't go as well as I expected. The girls didn't go to bed until after 9:45!! Logan was crying in her crib for 30 minutes, which kept Peyton up! Needless to say, both girls are asleep with me in my bed. I'm tempted to sleep in Peyton's room tonight. All I'm asking for is a little sleep here! I'm not looking forward to tomorrow morning. I'm going to have two tired girls to take care of. I need to remember patience and maybe the girls will be so tired tomorrow night, we won't have a repeat of tonight.
I recorded some videos tonight on the Flip camera so I will post tomorrow. Peyton was very excited to tell daddy happy valentines day! After bath time we put together valentines day cards for the girls to take to school on Thursday.
Off to bed I go...6:15 am will be here before I know it.

Daddy's on his way to Arizona for Spring Training
Now that Geoff will be in Arizona for two months, I figured this blog would be a great way for him to keep up with what's going on at home. I plan to post lots of pictures and videos because I don't want him to miss a thing! Thank you to all my friends who have blogs! You are all so creative and inspiring.
So here we go...
Daddy left today for Arizona, bright and early. I woke the girls up at 7:15 a.m. and Logan's first comment was, "daddy, I go see daddy." She proceeded to go downstairs and call for daddy. I told her daddy left for work. Her next comment was, "cereal mommy." Cereal is her absolute favorite! I then went upstairs and told Peyton that daddy left this morning but he'll be back soon. She asked if Arizona was far away and I said no, we can drive there in a car or fly in a plane to see daddy. The first morning ended up going well. The girls were at school by 8:05 a.m. and I was at work at 8:30 a.m. Poor Logan was not happy to start her second day of preschool. She cried when I left which made me so sad. The teacher picked her up and I could hear her crying as I was going to my car. It makes me sad however, I'm sure by now she's doing well. We'll see how tonight goes! We're going to work on Valentine cards today for school. Now that Logan started preschool yesterday I have to make another trip to Target to pick out cards for her. Wow, it's never ending!
