Ravioli Party

This afternoon, my sister Carol and my dad hosted their annual ravioli making party at my parent's house. Friends, neighbors, and even my sister's godmother from Alaska joined us. Good food, great friends, apparently good wine and even some games at the end of the night. We made chicken spinach raviolis in a sun-dried tomato sauce and pistachio and olive raviolis in a cream sauce. Both were delicious!

Nolan and his glass of wine.

Logan made herself fettuccine noodles for dinner.

Peyton did an awesome job at making the raviolis.

Aunt Jackie making a tomato, mozzarella, basil, and balsamic vinegar dish... YUMMY!

Chicken and spinach raviolis.

Logan got flour everywhere!

Carol and Clark with one of the many batches they  made.

Such a delicious dinner!

Jack and the Beanstalk

About two months ago, the girls and I planted sunflower seeds in front of our house. I thought it would be fun for the girls to water them and watch them grow. We also planted pansy seeds as well. So we water, and we water, and about a week later, sunflowers started growing. Fast forward two months and we have Jack and the Beanstalk growing in front of our house. Less than three weeks ago, Peyton and the sunflower stems were about the same height. Now, the darn thing is taller than me. I will have to say, they did produced beautiful flowers as you can see below.  Still no pansies, just a ginormous sunflower plant out front.

Dinner With Friends

Last week, I had a special evening out with some dear friends of mine from high school. We had dinner at Javiers and chatted about everything that is going on in our busy lives. It's so nice to catch up with these girls. I just wish we could get together more often.

Sundays Are So Special

A couple weeks ago, we got to spend Sunday afternoon with some of the girls favorite friends. They cooled off on the slip n slide, jumped in the bounce house and played on the swing set in the backyard. We had a crazy moment during the afternoon though. My girls and their friend were playing in the backyard by a plant that had flowers growing on it. The kids come running inside and tell us they all got stung by bee! Yep, all three of them, within a matter of seconds. Thank goodness, all three of them were fine and they had no allergic reaction to the bee sting.

We left our friends and headed to my dad's house for swimming and dinner. The girls have been living in the pool on the weekends this summer. I remember growing up having a green tint to my hair from all the chlorine. So far, they are good. The girls absolutely love to jump off the diving board.

Cannonball!

Jumping in to the shallow end of the pool...

And then, crazy girl jumping off the diving board!

No floaties!!!!

Good thing the shallow end is only 3 feet deep.
