Pre-Halloween Fun

To start our Halloween festivities, we headed to Geoff and my mom's office for their annual pumpkin patch. Our good friend Ella and Cousin Nick joined as well. My girls LOVE getting their face painted, as you can see. After the pumpkin patch, we headed to Ruby's for lunch. It was a great day and we look forward to this pumpkin patch every year!

Peyton's school had a wonderful Fall Festival. Peyton enjoyed seeing all her friends dressed up in their Halloween costumes. We had this little picture made of Peyton. It looks like her evil enemy with those eyes. :)

I volunteered at Peyton's school, the Friday before Halloween (which was her birthday too). The class made these super cute masks. I got a chance to meet some of the mom's, which was really great. Peyton LOVED that I volunteered in her class and she begged me come back again soon.

I Can't Keep Up

Obviously, I've had issues with time lately. I'm sure you can tell, as it's been a while since I updated this blog. I promise to be better about updating and keeping the blog current. One thing I've change about the blog is the size of the photos. I spoke to my other blogger friends and they told me trick so the photos appear larger. Thanks my blogger friends!

I'm going to sum up what we did during the month of October, exluding Peyton's birthday. Peyton's special day deserves a whole post of its own. I'm also going to prepare a separate post for Halloween as well.

October weekends were filled with Peyton's soccer games and spending time with friends.

We headed to Tustin Tiller days with several families on one Sunday afternoon. This was the second year in a row that we have gone to the festival.

Last but not least, I went to Williams-Sonoma and purchased a Sprinkles cupcake mix kit. The cupcakes were just ok. I think I like the ones straight from Sprinkles best. The girls had fun decorating, and that's all that counts. Here is what our cupcakes looked like. Can you tell Logan loves frosting?

The Race for the Cure

This year we participated in the Race for the Cure in honor of my mom. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in February and she's been a poster child for women living with breast cancer. She is truly a survivor and we are so proud of her. We decided to create a team and we so fittingly called it "Team Cattich Patch". Nolan's dad, Russ, designed t-shirts for all the team members with my mom's face on it. They turned out awesome! The "race" started bright and early, which was good since it was over 100 degrees that day in the afternoon. We walked the entire race and enjoyed the music and people watching. It took us about 45 minutes to complete the race. It was such an amazing day and it brought tears to my eyes to see my mom sitting on stage with all the breast cancer survivors. Our team ending up raising a total of $2,768.00. How awesome is that?!!! Go Team Cattich Patch! We are looking forward to participating in the race next year.

This picture of my mom was taken just before the race started. There were thousands of people that participated.

We Love The Park

I took the girls to one of our favorite parks by our house which has several playgrounds, a lake, tons of ducks and a really yummy restaurant. I decided to bring crackers and bread so the girls could feed the ducks. Little did I know, the ducks apparently were starving that day and they pretty much attacked us. I had to pick up both girls from the picnic table to get them away from the crazy ducks. Both girls told me they never want to feed the ducks again. The picture below was taken when we first arrived to feed the ducks.

Soccer

We signed Peyton up for her first season of AYSO soccer and she loves it! Since Geoff and I both played soccer when we were young, it's so exciting to watch her on the field. Peyton has practice two times per week and a soccer game on Saturday. Her team includes boys and girls under the age of 5. Peyton's team uniform is red, so the coach requested suggestions from the parents for a team name. Drum roll please... Peyton's team name is, "The Red Bulls". Peyton wanted to be called the Shooting Stars (which was my old teams name) and the coach didn't go for it. This is a picture of Peyton at home, just before going to her first soccer practice.

This is another picture of Peyton at soccer practice.

Peyton's first soccer game was this past Saturday. It was so fun to watch the kids play and chase the ball. Peyton did a whole lot of running that day. We aren't supposed to keep score at this age but Peyton's team scored 3 goals, the other team, zero. :)

This is a team picture after the first game. All the kids have their horns up. The kids really loved the snacks they received after the game.

Peyton's First Day of Kindergarten

Peyton started kindergarten today. The morning started off very well and it wasn't difficult to wake her up. She had breakfast, got her clothes on and we were out the door... after a few photos of course. The whole family went to the school to meet her teacher and show her around her classroom. The teacher's prepared a list of all the birthday's in the class and it looks like Peyton is the youngest in her class. Sadness arises as I forgot my camera in the car when we took Peyton to her class. We had to park far since there were so many people on the first day and I didn't have time to go back to the car once I realized I forgot my camera. Geoff was able to snap a picture with his phone outside of her classroom.

Peyton Is Starting Kindergarten

I can't believe Peyton is going to start kindergarten in 3 days. We have purchased all her school supplies, her backpack, lunch box, school clothes and shoes. Grammie also came by this weekend with some adorable school clothes for Peyton. She is very excited to start school and I know she will meet so many new friends since she is such a social butterfly. Of course, I do have a couple concerns.

Our little Peyton loves to sleep in every morning. Sometimes she wakes up after 9:00 a.m. School starts at 8:15, on the dot, so Little Miss Peyton is going to have a rude awakening come Thursday morning when she's woken up at 7:15. Oh, how I hope she wakes up in a good mood, eats her breakfast and puts her clothes on. Grammie recently summed up Peyton for me regarding time... Peyton is a on 48 hour day, while the rest of us are on a 24 hour day. We call her Slow Poke McGee and she has no sense of urgency. We must be ready for school and out the door by 7:55 a.m. I really pray our mornings go smoothly and Peyton wakes up in a wonderful mood. And more importantly, I hope we make it to school on time.

We recently went to Peyton's school to find out who her teacher is, which kids are in her class and what time she will start school. We heard that Peyton's teacher is wonderful with kids. Geoff and I were both shocked to hear that there are 29 kids in Peyton's class. I can't imagine teaching 29 kids at once. I figured there would be a teacher's aid or something, nope. Geoff and I both agreed, we need to volunteer at Peyton's school as much as we can. I truly commend teacher's out there for their wisdom, patience, support, and the love they have for our children.

Last, but not least, Peyton needs to decide what she is going to wear on her first day of school. She has lots to choose from so we'll see what she picks out on Wednesday night.

This is photo of Peyton on her first day of preschool, September 7, 2009.
