Missing Mom

I miss my Mom.  It's still hard to grasp that she's gone.  There is a part of me that still thinks she'll be at the house when I visit my Dad.  It really stinks to miss some one so much.  Oh how I wish she was still here with us.  She beat breast cancer, she was a fighter... I wish I could understand God's plan, but I can't.

I miss having you to talk to!

Family Game Night - Ladderball Style

The girls and I recently went shopping and Peyton begged me to buy the Ladderball game. I thought it would be fun for all of us, even though it does say 8+ on the box. We decided to open the box on Tuesday night and put all the pieces together.  Once we started playing, I had to remind the girls to be careful when throwing the bolas because they are pretty heavy and could hurt someone. We didn't necessarily follow the official game rules, we were just happy when one of the bolas landed on the ladder.

So we are marking another item off our 2012 Summer Bucket List... Family Game Night.

Swim Lessons

The girls start swim lessons this week. I'm hoping Logan will finally feel comfortable in the pool without her floaties on. She's obsessed with them! I decided on a new location for the lessons as I wasn't very fond of the last place. The "once a week lessons" weren't cutting it for Logan. I think she'll do better with back to back lessons for two weeks. I put the girls in the same lesson and the instructor decided to move Peyton up two levels.  So now, she's in level 3!

The girls went swimming at Papa and Grandma's house last weekend. The spa was warm and the pool was freezing, but that didnt' stop them from swimming in the big pool.

Yogurtland

Friday night we went with our friends to one of my favorite restaurants... Baja Fish. We went back on Sunday night too. Back to Friday... we have a Yogurtland right by our house and we have never gone there before because it's always so crowded. We usually go to the yogurt shop across the street, as there is never a line out the door like when we drive by Yogurtland. So Friday night, after dinner, we hit up Yogurtland. There was no line, which was awesome! I have to admit, the yogurt is way better than the little shop across the street. I guess we should have checked it out a lot sooner! The kids really enjoyed it too!

Mom, please stop taking pictures of me while I'm eating!

My friend watched Peyton during the day on Friday since Geoff had to work at 1:00 p.m. I showed up at the house and the girls were dressed like twins. They look so cute.

Moving On Up

Goodbye first grade… hello second grade! We are so proud of all that Peyton has accomplished this year in first grade. I’m truly amazed how she has progressed with reading and math. We will definitely keep up with her studies over the summer. Summer can’t be all about fun… can it? :)

Speaking of summer, Peyton had her first day of summer camp today.  Two of her friends from preschool are at the camp as well so she’s super excited to go every day.

Last week, Peyton’s class had an end of the school year celebration. The first graders played games, got their faces painted, and so much more. I can’t believe she’s going in to second grade!

Bird House

We completed another item off our Summer Bucket List! I found these cute little bird houses at Michaels. I thought it would be fun for the girls to paint and decorate them. Despite a bit of a mess with the paint, the girls enjoyed painting. My only rule was to pick two colors of paint. I've seen them use multiple colors while painting and they end up with a big gray mess.

Can you guess who made this one?
